Barock Pintos:
Elegance & Athleticism

A relatively young horse breed started in the 1950's in the Netherlands, Barock Pinto horses are the result of crossing Friesian horses with Warmbloods. The resulting horse has the temperament, character, and beauty of the Friesian combined with the drive and athleticism of the warmblood.

All Barock Pinto horses produced by Work of Heart Farm come from DNA-verified championship pedigrees on both the Friesian and Warmblood sides. They are also eligible for double registration with both the Friesian Sporthorse Association (FSA) and the Barock Pinto Studbook (BPS). Horses eligible for registration with the BPS as BP-type horses must have no less than 37.5% Friesian blood. Approved stallions must be black and white. For more information on BPS registration process and standards, click here.

Gypsy Cobs/Gypsy Vanners:
Magical Beauty & Temperament

As a child, when I closed my eyes and imagined my dream horse it didn't look like Secretariat. It was a unicorn- one drenched in mane and feather; thick with bone and personality. It wasn't until I was 16 that I learned these horses had a name- the Gypsy Cob.

While the Gypsy Cob is also a relatively young horse breed, it's pedigree and history are deeply entrenched in some of the oldest horse breeds combined to serve a population of humans equally rich in history and folklore- The Romani people. While the exact origins of the breed are unknown since Romani history was passed down by word of mouth, what we DO know is that sometime around WWI the Romani people capitalized on the British Army's aversion for coloured horses to be purchased and used for war, and worked tirelessly to create a horse that could truly do it all.

By combining the small size of Fell and Dales ponies with the temperament, feather, and sturdiness of the Clydesdale and Shire horses, the end result was a horse that was trustworthy and safe for every member of the family- no matter how small. Stories abound of this even-tempered, bomb-proof horse allowing small children to play between their feet, or be brought into the home during harsh weather. A horse bred for tight-knit family groups first and foremost, with looks to match. While faults in colour, pattern, feather, or conformation were forgivable, the Romani people would NEVER suffer an ill-tempered horse.

Irish Cob vs Gypsy Cob vs. Gypsy Vanner?

They're the same horse. In the UK, these horses are known as Gypsy Cobs and have their registry in the Traditional Gypsy Cob Association (TGCA). In 1996, Gypsy Gold imported the first Gypsy Cobs to the United States and established their own breed name and registry, the Gypsy Vanner Horse Society (GVHS). Irish Cobs were developed by the Romani people who remained in Ireland, and also have their own registry, the Irish Cob Studbook. All 3 registries have their own "foundational big names", and some of the best horses produced are crosses between the 3! The one thing on which all people who are passionate about this horse agree: This breed isn't a colour- it's a type! Gypsy Cobs come in a wide variety of colors and patterns; sure to capture the hearts and souls of horse lovers worldwide.

At Work of Heart Farm, we choose to pay respect to the rich history of our horses and prefer to call them Gypsy Cobs accordingly. All Gypsy Cobs produced by Work of Heart Farm are DNA-verified and eligible for double registry with both TGCA and GVHS, depending on preference.

Sired by the prestigious Nico of Hidden Promise Sporthorses, Destiny has displayed exceptional grace, temperament, and athleticism since birth- all traits she has passed on to her foals. Her incredible lineage features top performing horses in the Friesian, Friesian Sporthorse, and Dutch Warmblood stratospheres (Nico x Leffert x Ed King Hill x Samber) as well as notable Warmbloods responsible for her stunning pinto pattern (Samber x Nico), her gorgeous amounts of hair (Oege), and her Baroque-Classic physique (Jochem x Leffert). She is, without a doubt, a dream come true.

Her pedigree speaks for itself and is further evidenced by her half-sister, reigning Grand Prix Dressage Queen Adiah HP (the family resemblance is striking), and her rising star half-nephew, Battlefield Angel HP "Ezra". She has powerful hind end movement, beautiful extension, and the brains and beauty to match. She is currently under training to elevate her from broodmare to confident riding and driving companion.

Being homozygous for the Pinto/Tobiano gene means that 100% of her foals will inherit her pattern. Destiny and her foals are registered by DNA with the Friesian Sporthorse Association and the Barock Pinto Studbook, USA.

Fearless, goofy, super affectionate, and imprinted at birth, "Vision" truly is Work of Heart's vision of beauty. His stunning looks and conformation are amplified by his incredible movement, his amazing personality, and his limitless willingness to please. Sired by the one and only Julius 486 Sport Elite AAA out of Destiny, this kid's pedigree is littered with generations upon generations of DNA-verified greatness in his bones- from several Grand Prix dressage champions to Preferent/Model/Sport Elite predicates. If your goal was to find a unicorn- heart horse, sport prospect, and herd sire rolled into one colt- look no further!

Vision is double-bred Oege "the hair man" (and is already starting to sport a double mane!), and shares his lineage with 2 Breyer Models- Adiah HP (multi-Grand Prix champion)Battlefield Angel HP ("Ezra", IFSHA multi-world and national grand champion), as well as prestigious stallions such as Nico, Norbert, Leffert, Jasper, Samber, Ed King Hill, and so many more, making him a certifiable "who's who" in the Friesian and Friesian Sporthorse circles!

His trot is effortless, his canter is commanding, and he has already started to be exposed to cavalettis without hesitation. This colt will follow you to the moon and back and not think twice if you ask him to. His favorite thing in the world is being with his person and doing whatever it takes to get booty scratches from them. It pains me to let him go, but he will be an INCREDIBLE athlete and herd sire for the right home!
